Church News — February 10, 2023

Dear Church Family,

What a wonderful Sunday worship service we had last week with the baptism of 3 fellow believers.  To God be the glory!

This Sunday, February 12, is our annual Souper Bowl of Caring Sunday.  Each year on this Sunday we make a special effort to help with hunger needs in the Speegleville community.  In addition to your regular contributions to our Food Pantry, we ask that you bring canned goods this Sunday for our Food Pantry.  We are especially asking for canned soup and canned chili.  However, any other canned goods will be greatly appreciated.  You can learn more about the national Souper Sunday of Caring here.

Speaking of this Sunday (Feb 12), the choir will have their rehearsal at 5:00.

Our next Food Pantry is this Wednesday, February 15, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. in the church parking lot.  Each month, our church continues to help with food needs for 10-15 families in the Speegleville community.

On Wednesday, February 15, we will have a special church-wide meal (sandwiches, chips and dips meal) at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  This meal is to honor Angela Bailey on her upcoming birthday and for her faithful service at our church as the pastor’s wife.

Looking ahead, there will be a church-wide meal on February 26 after the Sunday worship service.  This will be a BBQ meal, and you are invited to bring side-dishes and/or desserts for this meal.  This will be a time of recognition for me as I lead my final service before my retirement.

I want to applaud our deacons, and especially Danny Lightfoot, who have been planning the Sunday services in March.  I want you all to know that God has blessed our church with wonderful leaders who truly have the best interest of Speegleville Baptist Church in their hearts.  The month of March is already filled with supply preachers, and you will hear about some exciting plans for the church during the upcoming interim period.

I know this Sunday will be a “super” Sunday as we come to worship our Lord together.

Blessings,

Joe Bailey
