December 2022
Dear Church Family,
As the last month of 2022 begins, I want to remind you of some important dates and activities for our church.
This Sunday is the deadline to order “Christmas Poinsettias.” Each poinsettia is $20.00. You can give in honor or in memory of someone. We will decorate the church sanctuary with these poinsettias for our December 11 worship service, and you can take your poinsettia(s) home December 18 or December 25.
We continue taking donations for this year’s “Speegleville Community Christmas Presents.” You may donate to this project by giving to the church with your gift designated for “Speegleville Christmas.” The money will be used to purchase Christmas presents for Speegleville Elementary and Speegleville community children.
Sunday, December 11, during our 10:00 a.m. worship service, our choir will lead us in worship with a Christmas cantata. After the service we will have our annual Christmas meal. The ham will be provided, and you are encouraged to bring your favorite side-dishes and/or desserts for this meal.
On Sunday night, December 18, 6:00 p.m., we will have our Christmas Candlelight Service.
Our next food pantry is Wednesday, December 21, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. We are still accepting items for the “Christmas Food Baskets.” Below is a list of items that are needed for these baskets.
Baked Beans
Canned Green Beans
Evaporated Milk
Rolls
Pudding (chocolate, lemon, vanilla)
Frozen Pies (Pumpkin/Apple/Cherry/Pecan or your favorite)
One last item, this year Christmas Day and New Year’s Day are on Sunday. We will have our 10:00 a.m. worship service on those days. Sunday School classes will not meet on those two Sundays.
What a special time of the year Christmas is! In the hustle and bustle of this time of year, please always remember the reason we celebrate Christmas — the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Blessings,
Joe Bailey
