Church News — June 20, 2020
I want to wish an early Happy Father’s Day to all our fathers! I hope, even in the midst of this pandemic, that this will be a wonderful weekend of family celebrations. What a blessing godly families are, especially in the days in which we are currently living.
Please continue to pray for Shirley Lewis, Cecil and Martha Clark, Robert Hoffman (and Barbara), Mike Cass (and Barb), and Pam and JT Daniel and the Daniel family.
I want to say a very special word of thanks to our church staff (Jordan, David, and Shauna). They continue doing wonderful work connecting with church families and members during COVID-19. Thanks to each of you for your ministries.
Thanks to Debi Barnett and those who are helping with our Food Pantry. We had another great day of meeting physical needs in Speegleville this past Wednesday. Thank you for being a church that cares for the needs of others (even during a pandemic).
I am also grateful for our deacons. They are keeping in touch with so many of you during these days. How blessed we are to have deacons who truly see their role in the church as serving our church family.
Speaking of our deacons, I will be meeting with the deacons on Sunday, June 28, as we continue planning for our return to in-person worship. These are not easy decisions, and I want each of you to know that everyone’s safety remains prominent in our minds as these decision are made. I want to encourage each one of you to keep us in your prayers as we make these plans and decisions.
Thank you for you continued faithfulness through your giving. I’ve said this many times before, and I’ll say it again, we are a very blessed church! Just a reminder that you can give your offering by mailing it to the church (469 Speegle Road, Waco, TX 76712), dropping it through the mail slot on the office door at the church, or giving on-line through our church’s web-page.
I hope everyone is staying well and safe. This pandemic will NOT last forever. I know we are all ready to return to normal routines and a normal church life, but I know this as well, God is still God and we are still His church. I look forward to the day when we can come back together for worship, but until then, I look forward to seeing you online this Sunday on our church’s Facebook page.
Blessings,
Joe Bailey
