From the Pastor – August 2019

As you can tell from our events, August is a busy month for all of us at Speegleville Baptist Church.  Sadly (or happily—depending on your point of view), the summer of 2019 is quickly coming to an end.  School will soon be starting for our students, teachers, and administrators.  Summer vacations are coming to an end.  The slower pace of summer is abruptly ending.  However, these are exciting days in the life of our church!

We will be witnessing the ordinance of baptism on August 4.  Baptism is a wonderful expression of one’s faith in Jesus Christ.  The act of baptism is done out of obedience and love for Jesus as Lord.  Baptism gives an outward expression of the inward conviction that Jesus is Lord of your life.

August also brings a return to regular schedules. On Wednesday, August 28, we will return to our regular Wednesday night schedule (meal at 6:00 and Bible studies for children, youth, and adults from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m.)  On Sunday, August 11, we will have a sign-up time for those who would like to provide meals for our Wednesday night dinners.

Looking briefly back to July, a very special thanks to all who helped our youth go to camp.  They all had a great time, and it was a time of spiritual growth for our youth.

I know that August will be another great month at church, and I look forward to seeing each of you in church during August as we join together to:  Worship God, Share Christ, and Build Believers.

Your Pastor,

Joe Bailey
